Not the most reliable resource. What does your brain tell you about being verbally abused?

The Bible says that the only reason for divorce is fornication. That is in our words “cheating on your partner in a sexual way”. The Bible has standards in how to treat one’s wife or husband. However, verbal abuse is not a reason for divorce.

People in the church would tell you to pray about it.

I believe in God but I do not believe in abuse.

If this verbal abuse is strong then perhaps you should move out until the other person can get some help. Too often verbal abuse is just one step away to physical abuse.

Divorce is not an option in the Bible. If you are being verbally abused and want a divorce get an attorney.

    Sorry you have troubles.

Jesus loves all his children and is full of forgivness for the oppresed.

Despite *some* misleading answers, it is true that the bible does not authorize divorce between Christians for verbal abuse - or even for reasons of physical abuse. However, it does allow for a temporary separation, *if* done with the consent of both husband and wife.
