By the way, a lot of people may say that Slayer and other Thrash Metal bands were mainly influenced by Hardcore Punk. Hardcore Punk was a definite influence on Thrash Metal but to a smaller degree. The MAIN influence on Thrash Metal was the NWOBHM { New Wave Of British Heavy Metal }. And although not an NWOBHM band, Judas Priest was one of Slayer’s main influences.
