My girlfriend is 17, and is mistreated at home. There is no physical abuse, but there is much verbal/emotional
themirror2288 asked:
There is a lot of emotional/verbal abuse, and she would like to get emancipated. Her parents would not consent to this however, they are morons. And this is a situation where she is not at fault, other family members have told me about what goes on. My parents have told me that they would take her in, and she could live with us, except i’m not sure what i’m able to do, can anyone tell me my options or what I could do?

The only option is to let her wait it out another year until she is 18. Even IF she could get emancipated, which she couldn’t because non-physical abuse isn’t only hard to prove, but has to be of a form that is extreme and documented.. there is ZERO percent chance that they will emancipate her to go live with a boyfriend. This question gets asked about fifty times a week by the way. This too will pass.

if the other family members are willing to swear under oath about what is happening then she will have an easy time winning her case. Contact your local social service office, they will put you in touch with a case worker who will help you and if need be a lawyer who will go to court with her. all of which will be free to her/if she wins the parents will be ordered to pay the costs, and the parents could be ordered to pay for her support until she is 18
